Senior Net Championship

This championship is formerly the PLGA JC Cunningham Senior Championship which started in 1983. The competition is open to SCGA members who are over the age of 50 years old. A total of 144 players compete for the Championship which is a 36 holes individual net stroke play event, there is no qualifying.  The field will be divided into flights based on handicap.

River Ridge GC hosted the 2012 SCGA Senior Net Championship, formerly known as the PLGA JC Cunningham Senior Championship, this past weekend. The competition is open to all SCGA members 50 years of age and over, and involves 36 holes of individual net stroke play.

This year's Bobby Jones flight was won by Jeremy Evans of El Dorado Park Men's GC, who shot rounds of 69 and 70 to best Dominic Namnath of Santa Barbara Men's GC by two strokes. Coming in third was Mark Marcus of Glendora CC.

In the Jack Nicklaus flight, Wayson Juarez of River Ridge Senior Men's GC took home the first place trophy, carding two rounds of 68 to finish at 8-under par. He beat Darryl Gordon of River Ridge Men's GC by three strokes, and Tom Lee of Knollwood Men's GC by six.

In the smaller, 21-person Arnold Palmer Flight, Terry Fail of Marshallia Ranch GC finished at even par after rounds of 75 and 69 to win the event. Michael Younger of El Prado Men's GC claimed second-place honors and Steve Wagoner of Canyon Lake Family GC came in third.
