SCGA Tournament Veterans Mark Miller and Dan Sullivan will take the course at the 2013 SCGA Foursomes Championship Monday looking to win their third-straight title, but it won’t be easy. Looking to prevent the dynamic Brookside GC duo of Miller and Sullivan (pictured) from obtaining the three-peat are a slew of past champions, including fellow Brookside GC member Tim Hogarth, 2012 California Amateur Champion Kevin Marsh and two-time SCGA Foursomes Champion John Pate.
In last year’s event, Miller and Sullivan barely edged out Hogarth, who was playing with PGA TOUR caddie Corby Segal. This year, Hogarth is back for revenge and the five-time SCGA Mid-Amateur champion will tee it up with partner Jon Levitt.
Also looking to challenge will be partners Marsh and John Pate, who have both won the event but never together, finishing eighth as a duo in 2012. Marsh last won the championship in 2010, while Pate won in back-to-back years in 2004 and 2005 with now-competitor Hogarth.
The two-day event will be played at Red Hill CC in Rancho Cucamonga, which is located just beneath the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Competitors will play 36 holes of foursomes stroke play during the competition.
