Scott Medlock: Capturing the Moment

Capturing the Moment

Medlock BookArnold Palmer may have put it best when he said, “I suspect that there aren’t many homes and offices of serious golfers that don’t have a Scott Medlock painting hanging somewhere on the premises. Those who don’t are missing something.”

Now, fans can enjoy SCGA member and renowned golf artist Scott Medlock work in the form of a book, with proceeds benefiting the SCGA Foundation, Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Scott Medlock: Capturing the Moment brings together some of Medlock’s most memorable golf images from the last 20 years, as well as paintings from many other sports. The book’s cover features Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer walking the 10th fairway of Riviera Country Club with the club’s majestic Spanish-style clubhouse in the background and Ben Hogan looking over them. The painting was originally created for the U.S. Senior Open Championship at Riviera and presented to Valerie Hogan by Medlock, Palmer and Nicklaus.

Medlock, whose work has been commissioned by the SCGA Hall of Fame since its inception three years ago, is considered one of the most prolific, accomplished and recognizable artists in golf. He has captured many of the game’s grandest moments and its biggest stars, from Palmer and Tiger Woods to Nicklaus, Gary Player, Fred Couples, Greg Norman, Chi Chi Rodriguez to Natalie Gulbis.

Nicklaus wrote the book’s foreword, and it contains a page of recognition from Palmer.
Medlock 2“The release of this book symbolizes the culmination of a lifelong dream for me,” Medlock said. “I’ve always enjoyed capturing the emotion and energy in golf and other sports, and I believe this book represents some of my best work. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to offer fans a collection of my favorite paintings, and also to benefit the charities of two people who have been very important to me, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.”
