On Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 6 the USGA will be filming their new public service
announcements at the Pelican Hill Resort’s South Course in Newport Beach. They are looking for
extras in the area to act as models for the shoot each day.
• They would need you to be there by 7 a.m. on either day and you should plan on being there
all day, at least until 5 p.m. You will be fed breakfast and lunch while there.
• In terms of what you would need to bring/wear, it would be two or three golf shirts in
different colors (preferably solid colors); long pants (solid color khakis); and a golf jacket or vest.
•The one thing they ask is that participants not wear anything that bears an equipment manufacturer name or logo.
• During the day there will probably be a fair amount of standing around waiting for shoots.
You will not be paid for their appearance but they are looking for other ways to compensate participants that will not fall afoul of amateur status guidelines.
• You will need to provide the USGA with an email address so they can communicate final
instructions to you over the weekend on April 2 and 3 on the club’s exact parking lot location
and any weather-related instructions if needed. The email address you provide will only be used
in connection with this project.
Any interested participants should send an email to dhubbard@usga.org indicating their
availability for one or both days. They can also call Dan Hubbard at the USGA at 908-234-2300
during normal East Coast business hours.
