PALM DESERT, April 11 -- For the ninth time in 30 years, La Quinta's PGA WEST topped 28 teams to claim the title of SCGA Desert Team Play Champions at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert.

The eight-man team, whose last victory was in 2001 at Desert Willow, won by a margin of one point (505) over Ironwood CC #1 in the two-day Stableford format, in which the best 7 of 8 scores count toward the team total. Two-time winners Palm Valley, which last won in 1991, secured third with 503 points.
