Junior Golf Program

SCGA Youth on Course now offers a junior golf instructional program at Pico Rivera GC, Norwalk GC and River Ridge GC.  Juniors have the opportunity to learn golf and decision-making through a program designed in conjunction with Up2Us, a nationally recognized sports-based youth development organization.  Program participants will be able to earn the Youth on Course Golf Pass and activate a VAULT account.

                    

Clinics & Play Days

SCGA Youth on Course hosts $5 clinics and play days around the Southland, open to all Southern California junior golfers.  The days include an instructional clinic as well as nine holes of golf. Click below to view 2013 schedule and to register for events.

Youth on Course Club

Golf Pass

The SCGA Youth on Course program creates affordable access to golf for youth by establishing $1-$5 green and range fees at local golf facilities during off-peak hours. Participants get certified for Youth on Course upon successful completion of a series of online quizzes that include golf rules, etiquette and decision making.

Who: Junior golfers in Southern California ages 7-17

Cost: $50 per member, $25 for each additional family member at same address
*10% discount if you sign up or renew membership before Dec. 31

Annual membership includes:

  • SCGA membership
  • Access to $1-$5 green and range fees at more than 120 Southland facilities (upon completion of online certification)
  • Option to activate VAULT bank account

         

VAULT

All Youth on Course Club members who have the Golf Pass are eligible to open a VAULT (Volunteering, Academics, University field trips, Leadership activities, Tutoring) account.  VAULT accounts are activated once a junior has submitted their most recent report card and parent/junior waiver forms to the Youth on Course office (818-508-6729 or youthoncourse@scga.org).  Members of this program earn VAULT points through participation in educational outings, completing post event surveys, public speaking and volunteering at Youth on Course events.  Account holders can then spend points on special golf outings at private country clubs, for junior golf tournament reimbursement, golf equipment, and more.

College Golf Summits

Are you interested in playing college golf? The Southern California Junior Golf Summits are your chance to learn all you need to know to begin preparing for college golf. Hear from leading experts on the recruiting process, academic rigors, what coaches are seeking and what you should be doing to plan. Speakers will include current/former coaches, past players, parents and more. Summits will be held Feb. 5 and Feb. 13. Click here to learn more.

Scholarships

The Scholarship Program is designed to help active Youth on Course participants continue their life-long learning experience by providing financial assistance for higher education.  Potential Scholars can apply during their senior year of high school.
